The NBA is a never-ending juggernaut, and the New York Knicks are no exception. All Knicks, brought to you by Sports Illustrated, brings you the latest news, rumors, and Big Apple gossip.

The New York Knicks made a change to their starting lineup for Friday night’s game against Boston, and it was a big one for the starting shooting guard position.

The Knicks had been in the starting lineup for each of their last 83 regular season games, with the exception of two starts in Washington and Charlotte on November 17-18 in place of the injured Grimes.

Grimes has been a fixture in the five since replacing Evan Fournier at the start of last season, but the third-year guard and 2021 1st-round pick has recently expressed concern about his role on the team and has struggled since returning from a two-game wrist injury (an average of 2.3 points and less than 18 percent FG over the past seven games).

After the first quarter, the Knicks are down 33-32 to the Boston Celtics.

Porzingis Available for Extra Celtics Game

The Boston Celtics announced Friday that forward Kristaps “Porzingis” Porzingis will be available to play in Friday night’s game against his former NBA employers (New York Knicks) at TD Garden. The game will start at 7:30 pm ET ( MSG / NBA TV).

The 22-year-old, who is in his first year in Boston, hasn’t played since the Celtics’ loss to Orlando on Nov. 24.

Porzingis has been a thorn in the side of the Knicks in their first two games against the Celtics: he has scored 51 points (on more than 57 percent shooting) and had 14 rebounds in those first two games, both Boston wins.

LAVINE OUT FOR 3-4 WEEKS WITH FOOT INJURY
The Chicago Bulls announced Wednesday night that they will be without Zach LaVine for 3-to-4 weeks because of a foot injury. The team said LaVine, who had missed the previous three games and all Chicago victories, would be out indefinitely. The news came after the team’s 111-100 victory over Charlotte on Wednesday night.

With the 8-14 Bulls on the brink of falling out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture, the talk of tearing everything down has been louder than ever, and the Knicks are in the rumor mill for either Zach LaVine (KLutch Sports client) or DeMar deRozan (Raptors client). LaVine is reportedly not interested in joining the Knicks because President Leon Rose has connections with Creative Artists Agency, according to sources.

JULIUS RANDLE IS THE NEW YORK KNICKS’ PLAYER OF THE WEEKS POTW

The New York Knicks’ two-time all-star forward has been named the Eastern Conference’s Player of the Week for the period of November 27 to Dec.

Randle has bounced back nicely from his struggles early in the season, leading the Knicks to three wins in a row this week on the strength of his double-doubles (24.7 ppg, 13.3 rpg) in the last three games. His 25-20 performance in last Monday’s win over Charlotte was his first 20-20 night in New York since 2018, when he was a member of the Thunder. De’Aaron Fox of Sacramento captured the Western conference edition.

On Monday night, the Celtics will be without one of their top newcomers as they try to continue their quest for in-season success. Former New York Knicks point guard Kristaps porzingis will be out with a calf injury, the team announced. Porzingis is expected to miss the first quarter of the first-round of the NBA In-season Tournament, scheduled to start at 7:30 pm ET, TNT.

According to a report by Celtics Wire, Mazzulla called Porzingis “day to day.”

He did not practice yesterday, Mazzulla said, but he did warm up on the court before today’s practice. His status has not been updated as to whether we’ll be ready for cash.

“Money” refers to the final prize awarded to the In-season Tournament’s champions, which is $500,000 per player on the winning team. The Boston-Indiana winner will face the winner of Tuesday’s game between the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where the championship final will take place on Saturday night.

On December 2nd, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson drew more charges (22) than any other player on the team, according to Tommy Beer.

Brunson has established himself as one of the best players on the team, but he is also playing with a lot of confidence.

It’s a stat that’s often overlooked, but it’s one that Brunson is showing to be extremely valuable. He’s stopped many points for the team by taking one.

Bogdanovic out vs. the Knicks, likely to make his debut on Saturday

The Detroit Pistons forward will not play against the New York Knicks on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, but he could potentially make his regular-season debut on Saturday at the Atlanta Hawks.

Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that Bogdanovic, who has been out with a calf strain all season, is expected to make his return on Saturday. He has yet to match his career-high of 21.6 points per game from last season.

On Sunday, the New York Knicks lost 116-113 to the Phoenix Suns, but it wasn’t all heartbreaking. According to the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report, two calls were missed on the possession that resulted in Jalen Brunson’s game-tying three-point play with 21 seconds left in the game. The call would have sent Phoenix’s possession back to New York’s end with a 2-point lead.

On November 28, the NBA reported that New York forward Julius Randle was incorrectly called for a foul on the possession that led to the Suns’ game-winning three-point play in the penultimate seconds. The league said Randle should have been whistled for being in the paint for more than three seconds.

Randle also didn’t get a foul on Phoenix’s previous trip down the court: Just over 20 seconds before, it was reported that officials had erred on Randle’s call for a personal foul on Nurkic that would have sent Phoenix to the line and given them a chance to extend their two-point edge that Brunson had wiped out. Instead, Phoenix was charged with a time-out violation that allowed Randle to score the point guard’s equalizer.

New York KNICKS ANNEX TWO-WAY CUT

The New York Knicks have agreed to terms on a two-way deal with former Summer League standout Jaylen Martin, per ESPN’s Adrian Woj. Woj has been with the team since February, when he signed for 31 games, but has not appeared in a single game this season, either with the Knicks or the G League affiliate Westchester.

At 19, Martin, who was a teammate of ex-Knicks shooter Charlie Ward at FSU, played in the Knicks’ Las Vegas Summer League team, scoring 39 points in three games on 41 percent shooting. Martin has since moved to Westchester, where he has averaged 10.8 points per game with 3.3 rebounds so far this season.

The Charlotte Hornets could be without their franchise point guard LaMelo Ball on Tuesday night when they host the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Ball suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s loss to the Orlando Magic and did not return to the game.

According to Buzz Beat’s Spencer Percy, Ball’s follow-up X-rays were negative, but his status is likely to remain in doubt as the Hornets travel to New York City to play the Phoenix Suns in the final group play of the In-Season Tournament for both teams. Ball is fresh off ankle surgery after another ailment ended his season last February.

Suns vs. Knicks

Suns SF Durant Out With Foot Soreness

Phoenix Suns SF Kevin Durant will miss his second game in a row on Sunday as the Suns host the New York Knicks.

Durant, who was listed as a “questionable” on the injury report, was said to have been a “game-time decision” and started in his place for the second game in a row.

Jeffries, McBride and Sims Assigned to Westchester G League Affiliate

The New York Knicks assigned two reserves to their G League affiliate, Westchester, on Wednesday.

Miles McBride and Jericho Sims each had an extended opportunity to play in the team’s final tune-up game before the Thanksgiving break against the Long Island Nets’ group.

Even though the Knicks lost 111-104, Jeffries led Westchester with 23 points, shooting 9-for-17 (including 5-for-10 from three). McBride followed with 21 points, and Sims added 12 rebounds, with half of them offensive.

Westchester will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts the Charlotte Hornets’ affiliate Greensboro Swarm (4-2). Game time is set for Sunday at 4 p.m.

MINNESOTA WINGERS vs. NEW KENTUCKY KNICKS: MINNESOTA F JADEN McDANIELS OUT FOR THE REST OF THE MULTIPLE STARTER’S PERFORMANCE WITH A RIGHT ACHIEVING INJURY.
MCDANIELS rolled his ankle after landing on KARL-ANTON THOMPSON’S foot while attempting a rebound. The 22-year-old has been a strong defensive player for the Wolves during the team’s hot start to the 2022-23 season.
The Timberwolves trail the Knicks at halftime, 58-56.

New York (Nov. 20) – The NBA announced Monday that New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson has been named Eastern Conference Player-of-the-Week in addition to Western star De’Aaron Fox, of Sacramento. This marks the second such honor for Brunson, who joined the Knicks two years ago on a 4-year $104 million deal.

The 24-year-old Brunson has been at the forefront of the Knicks’ offense as the team embarks on a five game road trip. In the first four games of the trip, Brunson is averaging 28.5 ppg, 6.5 dpg, and shooting a season-best 54.3 ppg from three. He has scored 32 points in each of the past two games, the first of which was a 32-point performance in Friday’s victory over Washington in the Knicks’ opening round of the NBA In-season Tournament. To date, he has scored 77 points in two In-season Tournament games.

Along with Brunson’s win, his teammate J
New York is 3-0 on the road trip and will look to finish strong on Monday night against Minnesota (8:30 p.m., MSG).

The Charlotte Hornets could have a key player back from suspension on Saturday when they host the New York

The Hornets announced Friday that Miles Bridges will be eligible to return to the team on Friday after serving out his one-game NBA suspension. The team said that based on their current knowledge of the facts surrounding the recent allegations, they are comfortable with Bridges’ return to play. The team will continue to liaise with the NBA as the case progresses.

Bridges was suspended from the team last season following an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident in June 2022. The 24-year-old had not played since April 2022 and had pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor domestic violence charge of causing injury to a child’s parent and was sentenced to three years’ probation with no jail time.
