Dallas Cowboys NFL Tracker: Tush Push?

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones defended the Philadelphia Eagles’ trademark “Tush Push” during his weekly radio show on 105.3 “The Fan” on Dec. 5. “I think it’s a great idea.”

The short-yardage game, which often involves an offensive lineman shoving a quarterback into the end zone, also known as the “Brotherly Shove,” has resurfaced after reports surfaced that the NFL commissioner was looking to ban the play.

The short-yardage game, which often involves an offensive lineman shoving a quarterback into the end zone, also known as the “Brotherly Shove,” has resurfaced after reports surfaced that the NFL commissioner was looking to ban the play.

Jones’ comments come ahead of the Cowboys’ showdown with the Eagles (9-3), which kicks off at 7:20 (7:20 CT, NBC) on Sunday night. He previously praised the Eagles’ “traditional scrum” in October.

After the Cowboys defense stopped on fourth down at the Cowboys’ 30-yard line, Prescott drove the offense 54 yards in 7 plays, completing 4 of his 5 passes for 35 yards and finding Jake Ferguson for the go-ahead score.

With the Cowboys trailing by two, the team opted to go for two and Prescott found Cooks to give the Cowboys a 38-35 lead.

The Dallas Cowboys cut a 30-point deficit in the second quarter thanks to a series of penalties, but it was Tony Pollard who found the end zone with a game-tying six-yard run. Aside from the touchdown, however, Pollard has had a quiet night, with just 35 yards rushing on 14 attempts.

With less than three minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Seahawks lead the Cowboys 28-27. The Cowboys ‘Doomsday’ Defense is struggling as the third quarter of “Thursday Night Football” is still 10 minutes away. Geno Smith’s TD run has given Seattle a 28-20 lead over the Cowboys.

The Cowboys have given up 28 points in the first two quarters against a Seattle team that has an 18.6-point-per-game road differential.

Dallas has conceded a touchdown to end the first half and is now on the receiving end of a bookend score, with NFC defensive player of the month DaRon Bland being one of the many victims. News outlets have reported that Shaquille Leonard’s visit to Dallas was a successful one, with ESPN’s Jordan Schultz reporting that the visit went “well” and ESPN’s Dianna Russini reporting that Leonard is looking for a new home after being released by the Indianapolis Colts last week.

Leonard also visited Dallas’ division rival Philadelphia on Wednesday, and that meeting went “well,” sources say.

The four-time Pro Bowler left Philly at the same time he left Dallas without a contract, and sources say he’s expected to make a final decision this weekend.

It’s just in time for Leonard to lend his support to his new teammates in next week’s must-win game, which the Eagles host the Cowboys.

This should be a joyous moment for Cowboys Nation. Instead, it’s become something of a source of frustration. But maybe this time—for the eighth time in his career—Darren Woodson will make it to Canton.

Woodson is one of 25 players on the modern-era Hall of Fame’s list of 2024 semifinalists, a group narrowed down from a record of 173 nominees. He’s been in the mix eight times, including last year’s finalist.

It’s a step in the right direction for Woodson, who has been the Cowboys’ leading tackler for 12 years, four All-Pros, five Pro Bowls and three Super Bowl champs.

It was a busy weekend for Cowboys tight end and Liberty Christian School head coach Jason Witten. Witten returned to the Star on Nov. 26 and earned a big win.

Other notable players who advanced include:

Tiki Barber
Antonio Gates
Devin Hester
Julius Peppers
DeVinci Hester
Steve Smith Sr

The class of 2024 will be determined during Super Bowl Week beginning in early February in Las Vegas.

On Saturday, Witten returned to Frisco’s The Star for the semi-final round of the Texas A&M University-Commerce (TAPPS) Division II state playoffs. Witten was accompanied by his sons, Cooper and CJ, and Liberty Christian defeated All Saints 45-17 to advance to the championship game in Waco. “As a family, these are the years we know we won’t come back to again,” Witten said of his sons, according to CBS News Texas’ Bill Jones. “We appreciate every moment, especially Friday nights. We still have a long road ahead of us before we get to a championship, but it would be pretty cool.”

Liberty Christian (Argyle, Ga) will host Regents (Mountain View, Calif.) for the state championship Friday night.

Washington fired defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio on Nov. 24 after another disastrous defensive performance, this time against division rival Dallas, 45-10.

According to multiple reports, the Commanders fired Del Rio after falling to the Cowboys 45-10 on Thanksgiving day.

The Washington Post reported that the Commanders also fired defensive backs coach Brent Vestermeyer.

Del Rio, in his fourth year as the Washington DC, has been under fire for much of his time in charge.

Ron Rivera has always supported Del Rio as his head coach, but now that Rivera’s job is in jeopardy, he’s made the decision. Rivera, a defensive coach in his own right, will likely be in charge of the defensive play-calling for the foreseeable future.

Marcellus Wiley, a former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle and media personality, has been charged with sexual assault against a college classmate.

Wiley, who played from 1989- 1991, has been with the Cowboys for three seasons. Before that, he was with the Oakland Raiders for three and Jacksonville for nine seasons.

The plaintiff, who is now a professor at one of the Ivy League universities, claims in a lawsuit filed in New York State Supreme Court that Wiley, now 48, sexually assaulted her in 1994 while she was a student at Columbia University in the fall.

“Wiley’s conduct was deliberately designed to inflict severe emotional distress on plaintiff, or was conducted with reckless disregard for the substantial and/or considerable likelihood of causing plaintiff serious emotional distress,” the lawsuit states.

On Wednesday evening, Wiley issued a statement through his podcast in which he acknowledged that he had “messed up” but maintained his innocence.

On the one hand, it’s just Monday, and it’s the start of the week, so there’s not much to worry about in terms of injuries.

On the other hand, we’re in the middle of Thanksgiving Week, and with that comes the crunch of games. The Cowboys, fresh off a win on Sunday at Charlotte, have the opportunity to do it again right away.

With that in mind, the players on the Cowboys’ Monday injury list must find a way to get ready.

In the meantime, as the Cowboys host the Commanders Thursday night? Lamb is one of four Dallas players on the Cowboys’ injury list, joining tackle Terence Steele with an ankle injury, defensive end Jayron Kearse with a back injury, and running back Rickey Dowdle with a knee injury, all of whom are expected to play on Thursday.
