MOT £75m star now ‘ has moved’ to Elland Road.

Leeds United target wants to move to West Yorkshire amid interest from the rest of England

Leeds United’s Joseph Paintsil has been heavily linked with the club, and Sky Sports’s DharmeshSheth has given GIVEMESport an update on the matter.

The Genk striker has also been linked to Southampton and Burnley as he eyes a switch to England ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has reported that Leeds have made an offer for Genk’s Paintsil worth around £8,5 million.

According to Ornstein, the offer would include a ‘sell-on clause’ for the Belgian outfit.

Leeds initially had an agreement with Southampton to swap Onuachu for Paintsil, but the Ghana international has made it clear that he wants to join the Yorkshire giants in the summer.

It has been reported by Sky Sports that Leeds have been in advanced talks with Genk to sign Paintsil, as Daniel Farke looks to bolster his squad ahead of the transfer deadline.

Paintsil has made 143 appearances for Genk, scoring 57 goals (32 goals/25 assists).

Leeds will be looking to bolster their attack after losing two of their opening four games this season.

However, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay, a move to England has been put on hold due to a disagreement between him and Genk over any bonuses they may owe him.

Alex Crook of talkSPORT recently spoke to GIVEMESPORT, reporting that the deal between Leeds and Genk had hit a “complicated” stage, suggesting the possibility of the forward not getting his move after all.

What has Dharmesh Sheth said about Paintsil?
Sheth believes that the Belgian club should allow Painstil to leave due to the irrefusable offers coming in from the Championship.

The reputable journalist understands that despite reports that Southampton’s approach included ‘favorable terms’, the 25-year-old wants to play in the colours of Leeds United.

Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Leeds still believe that Paintsil wants to go to the club. It just could come to a bit of brinkmanship towards the end of the window on whether Genk and Paintsil can sort out their dispute to allow this deal to happen, because for Genk this would be big money.”

“And it’s one of those situations where ‘can they refuse it?’ They probably don’t want to refuse it. They probably still want to do the deal with Southampton, but they’re probably aware that Paintsil’s preference is probably to go to Leeds.”

What’s next for Leeds United?

All summer long Leeds have been struggling to keep a hold of Italian winger Wilfried Gnonto, fending off interest from Everton, with the player even being excluded from first-team training sessions by Farke after reportedly pushing for an exit away from Elland Road.

However, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, their chances of keeping the 19-year-old, whose goal last weekend against Ipswich helped Leeds win their first championship game of the season, have been boosted after The Toffees’ signing of former Udinese forward Beto instead.

With the 11pm deadline coming up on Friday, it looks like Leeds have made a move for AS Roma winger Ola SOLBAKEN.

According to Mail Online, Simon Jones has revealed that the Whites are ready to make a move for the 24 year old.

Solbakken has been linked with a switch to Elland Road in the past, and is likely to be a part of Leeds’ cover if they lose either of their wingers, either Gnonta or Sinistierra.

Everton and Crystal Palace have also been monitoring the situation, with Sinistierra having been linked with a move.

Jones has revealed that the forward, who only signed for Roma last January, is looking to leave Elland Road after spending most of the season in a second striker role, scoring once in 14 starts.

With the arrival of Lukaku from Chelsea at the stadio olimpico, SOLBAKEN’s status as a regular first-team player seems to have been further compromised.

Before joining Roma, the Norwegian made 91 appearances in all competitions for Norwegian club FK bodo/glimt, scoring 44 goals (20G / 24A), according to Transfer Markt, and it is thought that he could be on offer to Leeds at a price of £4 million.

Leeds are expected to be active in the summer transfer window.
