Magic stun Hornets to snap seven-game losing streak

Franco Wagner and Cole Anthony each scored 30 points, while Paolo Banchero added 23 points, and Jaleen Suggs had 12 points and seven rebounds. Moritz Wagner had 11 points.

Miles Bridges scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds for Charlotte. Terry Rozier added 22 points and 9 assists, while Brandon Miller scored 20 points and P. J. Washington added 13 and Mark Williams 12.

The Hornets’ LaMelo Ball, who had seven points before going down with a right ankle injury in the second quarter, had to be helped out of the locker room after a collision with Banchero close to the basket.

The Hornets, coming off back-to-back wins over Boston and Washington, never had a double-digit lead against Orlando in the first half.

Wagner and Anthony each had season-highs in scoring, as Orlando shot 54 percent overall and 37 percent from three. The Magic dished out a season-best 33 assists, improving to 9-0 when scoring 110 or more points.

Orlando led by six going into the fourth quarter, and took a 120-104 lead on a 3-pointer by Franz Wagner with 4:22 left. Banchero then hit a 3 to give the Magic a 14-point lead with 1:11 remaining.

The Hornets led 33-25 at the end of the first quarter after a 7-0 run. Gordon Hayward had seven points for Charlotte, which shot 15 of 22 for 68.2 percent.

Early in the second quarter, Orlando’s Gary Harris made a 3-pointer that gave the Magic a 39-39 lead. The Magic led 61-57 at the half behind 12 points from Franz Wagner. Terry Rozier had 13 points for the Hornets.
