Arsenal has finally signed Aston Villa most potential mildfielder

Arsenal want to sign Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz in January, according to a respected journalist. The London giants are off to a good start in the Premier League, but have been hit by more injuries in the middle of the park. Thomas Partey has a thigh injury that could keep him out until at least January, and the club will face another issue in early 2024 when Partey, Elneny and others are set to play for Ghana and Egypt respectively at the Africa Cup of Nations, leaving them short on midfield options.

Jorginho, Declan Rice and Nuno Espirito Santo are the only specialists in defensive midfield at the moment.

According to Romano, Luiz is the Gunners’ top priority for January, and they’re not looking to make a deal happen. However, it’s not going to be a walk in the park with Villa in the race for the top four.

He said that Douglas Luiz is his number one target. There is no deal in place for Ruben Neves, despite the speculation. As far as Douglas Luiz is concerned, it is not an easy deal for him. Arsenal will try to sign him, Arsenal have a dream of signing him, but it’s not a sure thing. Let’s see what happens because it’s not an easy deal with Aston Villa.

After Partey’s injury in the summer 2022, Arsenal were keen to sign Luiz and made a £25m bid, but it wasn’t enough to convince Villa to let him go before the transfer window closed. Luiz then signed a long-term deal and is now one of the team’s first names on Unai’s coaching staff.

With Villa just 1 point clear of the top four and 3 points behind leaders Manchester City, the Midlands outfit have big ambitions for the season ahead and might not want to let go of one of their best players midway through the campaign.

A deal for Luiz could prove difficult to broker during the winter window, so Arsenal may need to look elsewhere.

Zubimendi

Real Sociedad have been a long-term admirer of Arsenal’s, but they may not be willing to sell him unless they can activate his £52m release clause. The Spaniard was a target of Arsenal last summer but wanted to play in Champions League football.
