The Detroit Lions have signed Bruce Irvin, a former first-round pass rusher.

Bruce Irvin, 36, has signed with the Lions to help with their pass rush.

The Detroit Lions have taken a step toward strengthening their pass rush defense. Bruce Irvin, a seasoned pass rusher, is 36 years old, and the Lions are reportedly signing him, per a Tom Pelissero report.

 

 

Pelissero reports that Irvin will join the team as a practice squad member. Despite putting Halapoulivaati Vaitai on injured reserve this week, the Lions do have a slot available on their 53-man roster.

 

Irvin, a first-round selection in 2012, has 11 seasons of playing experience and 55.5 sacks total. He started ten games for last year’s

“Brad is always looking at guys like that,” Campbell said. “If he thinks they can bring something to us, he’s looking. We’re constantly looking to see if there’s anybody that brings something different to us that helps improve us or gives us another option here to help us in any phase of the game.”
