Georgia Injury Report Update from Kirby Smart – Ladd Mcconkey Injury Report Update from Georgia

Kirby Smart’s injury report for Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech and the latest on the status of Georgia Tech’s Ladd McCkey.

On Monday, Georgia’s head coach, Kirby Smart, addressed the challenges facing the Bulldogs ahead of their next opponent, Georgia Tech. He also discussed the most recent win over Tennessee Volunteers. In addition, he provided an update on Georgia’s injury report entering Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech.

“Tate is fine,” Smart said. “He banged his knee last week and was sore yesterday. He’s sore today, but no structural damage.”

“RaRa Thomas has a slight foot sprain. It’s probably more of a bruise.”

“Yulian Humphrey is doubtful to play against Tennessee on Saturday,” Smart said.

Humphrey had been gaining more playing time in the Bulldogs’ defense before sustaining a lower-body injury against Ole Miss last week. He did not return in the second half of the game.

JAMON DUMAS-JOHNSON (FREDDING) – OUT
Dumas-Johnson was ruled out for the game against Ole Miss last week after fracturing his forearm the week before against Missouri. Smart wouldn’t provide an update on Dumas-Johnson’s status, saying it’s week-to-week.
TE BROCK BOWNS (ANKLE) – IN
“Brock is fine, I think he’s just a little sore,” Smart said. “What’s going on is he’s been using it more, and there’s more soreness in the game than the week before. We’ve been giving him lighter workloads early in the week, because if we don’t, he’ll overwork himself.”
Bowers missed Georgia’s victories over Florida and Missouri following his high ankle sprain against Vanderbilt on October 14, but returned last week and played extensively against Ole Miss. Smart said Bowers is dealing with soreness after last week’s game but is expected to play this weekend against Knoxville.

Ladd McConkey, WR – IN

“Yeah, he tweaked his ankle in the Ole Miss game,” Smart said. “He was able to practice a little this week, but not a lot. It’s nothing serious. Claude said there were questions about him having tightrope surgery. That’s not true. I don’t know what’s going on. He just rolled his ankle and he’ll be good to go against Tennessee.”

Smart also said that McConkey was able to return to the game if necessary.

McConkey missed the first four games of this season due to a lingering back injury. He did not return to face Ole Miss on Saturday.

Smart made McConkey available for postgame interviews.
