Who is the most significant individual on the Lions’ defense in the upcoming game against the Bears?

A look at the key Detroit Lions defenders against Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears offense.

On Sunday, the Detroit Lions will host the Chicago Bears, who are not widely regarded as a high-scoring offense. After allowing 38 points to the Los Angeles Chargers last week, the Lions’ defense will need to be on their toes. Chicago’s offense features quarterback Justin Fields and running backs Khalil Herbert and D’Onta Foreman. Fields has the ability to throw the deep ball, which could make wide receiver D. J. Moore, who has averaged over 100 yards a game when Fields has been healthy, a threat. Therefore, the focus this week will be on the Lions’ defense.

It is my opinion that the most significant player for the Detroit Lions against the Chicago Bears will be Cameron Sutton. The Lions’ number one cornerback will likely be tasked with playing over Moore for the majority of the contest. I believe that Moore is the only player on the Bears’ roster who can have a significant impact on the game. However, Sutton will need to bounce back from his poor performance against KeenanAllen last week.

On the other hand, I believe the Lions’ secondary will be an even more important factor in the game. They will have to make sure that Fields does not rush for more than 100 yards, play aggressively in the running game to contain Chicago’s rushing attack, and even cover an undervalued weapon in Cole McKnight. This will be a major challenge for the Lions’ linebacking corps.

Alex Anzalone is likely to be the key to Detroit’s defensive game plan, as the Lions have been increasingly utilizing him in their blitz formations. If they continue to do so, Anzalone will need to make the most of his opportunities when he is presented with Fields. Fields is not an ideal quarterback to tackle, thus requiring Anzalone’s tackling skills to be at their peak. Khalil Herbert
