Jameson Williams, a member of the Detroit Lions, has created a stir by selecting a fast-food establishment for his McFlurry.

Jameson Williams, a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, expressed his frustration with the malfunctioning McDonald’s McFlurry machine on Thursday.

The McFlurry machine was discussed in the Lions’ locker room because Williams would draw the attention of fast-food aficionados by sharing an Instagram post of a McDonald’s McFlurry with a McDouble on the burger, which he shared via Instagram.

Williams acknowledged that he had not always done so, but had recently begun to do so. He and one of his brothers had seen it for the first time recently. “I went to McDonald’s on Jefferson Avenue the other day, and the machine didn’t work the first couple of times,” Williams said. “It was cool though, and I think you should try it out. It’s called an Oreo Mcflurry Double — ten out of 10.” Williams added that he had not been able to create one on each of his visits to McDonald’s. Williams has had a productive season in five games this year, with eight receptions (89 yards) and one touchdown (1). He also had two receptions (18 yards) and one TD (10 yards) in Sunday’s 41-38 win over Los Angeles Chargers, playing in the majority of the Lions’ offensive snaps (52 percent) despite a penalty on one of his receptions.

Williams expressed that he is no longer concerned with the specifics of the game, but rather with the team’s current success. He stated that he is focused on winning, and that it does not matter who receives the ball, as long as it is in the hands of a player who is making plays. Williams also noted that he has been practicing more, and that he has been focused on the small details of the game, so that when he is on the field, there is no cause for concern.

Since Williams was selected by the Detroit Lions as the twelfth overall pick in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft, he has been somewhat of a work in progress.

Williams was not able to make his initial NFL appearance until the Lions’ 12th regular season game in 2022 due to a torn ACL sustained in his final college game with Alabama in the 2021 CFP National Championship. During his rookie season, Williams had two touches and on December 11, 2022, he was the starting wide receiver in the Lions’ 34-23 win over the Minnesota Vikings. On January 1, 2023, Williams had a 40-yard reception in Detroit’s 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears, after having been suspended by the NFL for gambling violations. Despite being one of the NFL’s fastest players and having to come from behind due to two setbacks, Williams has credited “slowing everything down” with his progress this season.

Upon arriving, Williams attempted to remain on the fast track. However, as he began to understand and slow down the process, he found that slowing down was beneficial. He began to receive assistance from outside sources and teammates, and the process began to move more smoothly. Williams noted that the speed on the field must always be present, and he must use it to his advantage. However, slowing down the process can be similar to formation or play.
