BREAKING: Lakers Bolster Frontcourt with Alex Len on Two-Way Contract
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed veteran center Alex Len to a two-way contract, sources confirmed today. The move adds much-needed depth to the Lakers’ frontcourt rotation and provides a seasoned presence for both the NBA squad and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.
Len, a 7’1″ center with over a decade of NBA experience, has played for several teams including the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, and Toronto Raptors. He brings size, rebounding, and a reliable inside presence, which the Lakers reportedly sought to address their roster needs.
“Alex provides valuable experience and size that will benefit our team,” said Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka in a press release. “His ability to protect the rim and contribute on both ends of the floor makes him a great addition. We’re excited to see what he brings to the table.”
As a two-way player, Len will be eligible to spend a maximum of 50 games with the Lakers and will otherwise play for the South Bay Lakers. This arrangement allows the Lakers to evaluate Len’s fit within the team while also providing flexibility in managing their roster.
The signing comes as the Lakers look to fine-tune their roster heading into the upcoming season. With training camp just around the corner, Len will have the opportunity to compete for a role and prove his value to the team. Financial details of the contract were not immediately disclosed. The Lakers are expected to make an official announcement later this week.
