The New York Giants set a record no one wanted to set after a disastrous loss to the Cowboys

Honestly, the New York Giants have been a terrible team this year.
And things reached a new low on Sunday after a blowout loss to the Cowboys.
The Giants have had a ton of losses this year, including a Week 1 loss to Dallas, 40-0.
But Sunday’s embarrassing performance may have been the worst yet.

Usually, people are talking about the point differential when discussing biggest blowouts. Arguably, the better way to measure a game’s competitiveness in a blowout is based on total yardage for each team. And, the stats were not pretty for the Giants on Sunday. Take a look.

Yes.
Total yards are 640 to 172.
Total offensive yards of 172 is pretty bad, but you’ll see it a few times per season.
But giving up 640 yards to defense?
Awful.
And, unlike the Giants’ offense, the Giants defense is relatively healthy.
The only reason the score was as “close” as it ended up was due to two Cowboys interceptions that stopped drives they likely would have scored on.

Sadly for fans of the G-Men, the team has seven more games this. With Tommy DeVito looking likely to be the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, an already terrible Giants offense will be historically awful.

Luckily for Giants fans, with the team currently at 2-8, they’ve moved up to the second-pick in the 2024 NFL Draft order if the season ended today. The franchise obviously needs a franchise quarterback, and picking there would give them a chance at selecting either UNC’s Drake Maye or Caleb Williams.

Still, that won’t be much consolation to Giants fans, who saw their team lose twice in blowouts to their bitter rivals in Dallas.

It seems like the jobs of head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are safe. But, there’s a long rebuild ahead of them.
