Breaking: Los Angeles Lakers Finally Sign Chicago Bulls Star Zach LaVine For $135 Million For Three Years Contract…
Chicago Bulls Could Land 28-year-old Los Angeles Lakers Star in Zach LaVine Trade
The Chicago Bulls could land the 28-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star in a trade for Zach LaVine.
The Chicago Bulls are stuck in no man’s land right now – not good enough to compete and not bad enough to tank. That is the last place you want to be as an organization in the NBA.
If the Bulls are to embrace their rebuild fully, one of the players they need to get off their books is Zach LaVine.
LaVine is a two All-Star and one of the best players that the Bulls have, when healthy. The problem is, he is set to make $138 million over the next three years.
The Bulls do not need to be spending that sort of money on a player when they have no realistic chances of competing in the foreseeable future.
LaVine’s name has constantly done rounds of the trade rumor mill but it has proven difficult to find him a new home. His injury history has certainly had an effect on the demand for his signature.
One team in need of making something happen are the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite having LeBron James and Anthony Davis, they do not look like contenders heading into the 2024-25 season.
A possible trade has been suggested that would see LaVine head for Los Angeles while D’Angelo Russell joins the Bulls. Eric Pincus wrote in the article ‘1 ‘Realistic’ Dream Trade Target for Every NBA Team’ on Bleacher Report: “If Chicago can trade for D’Angelo Russell from the Los Angeles Lakers, that would likely mean LaVine is off to L.A. The Bulls don’t really need a point guard like Russell, but his expiring contract would be welcome.”
Russell could be a solid contributor for the Bulls. He averaged 18.0 points and 6.3 assists per game last season while shooting 45.6% from the field and 41.5% from three-point range.
As for the Lakers, something they need is firepower alongside LeBron and Davis, and LaVine could give them 20-plus points every night.
