Congratulations: LB Christian Gass has committed to the Vols for $120 million.
Tennessee received a commitment from four-star linebacker Christian Gass out of the class of 2025 on Saturday.
Gass chose Tennessee over Georgia and Southern Cal to give the Vols their second commitment in the month of July and their eighth commitment since the start of June. Heupel and his staff have been hot on the recruiting trail this summer as Tennessee continues to build momentum to the season.
Gass holds a pair of four-star rankings from ESPN and On3 Sports while Rivals and 247 have him as a three-star prospect. According to 247 Composite Rankings, Gass lands as a four-star prospect, the No. 204 player in the nation, the No. 22 linebacker in the country, and the No. 31 player out of the state of Georgia in the class.
While playing for Eastside High School in Covington, GA, during the 2023 season, Gass racked up 68 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, and one forced fumble according to 247. Gass stands at 6-foot-2.5, 215 pounds according to his recruiting profile.
Gass’s commitment to Tennessee on Saturday is a big one as he gives the Vols a dynamic linebacker prospect in the middle of the recruiting class. Tennessee brought in former Washington defensive assistant William Inge to coach the linebackers this offseason as the Vols look to take the next step in the middle of the field.
