When Moreno was a Real Betis player, Forest saw him as a player who could enter the game and strengthen their team. At one point, everything was agreed upon, but the player changed his mind and canceled.

At Aston Villa, the 30-year-old showed no such reluctance when Unai Emery called. He moved to Villa Park for £13 million in January and made 19 appearances as the team advanced to Europe.

Moreno is not expected to play Forest today.
When the Reds take on Aston Villa today, it doesn’t appear like they will get to play Moreno. Although Birmingham Live states he is back in training, starting him would be risky.

The player was a valuable addition to the team last season. Shortly after taking over as the team’s manager from Steven Gerrard, Emery recognized him and took quick action.

In the summer, Forest was left to lament their inability to land Moreno. To be fair to the Reds, though, there wasn’t much more the team could have done to seal the deal.Aston Villa's Alex Moreno returns to training following injury | Shropshire Star

When Moreno was being linked to a move, Forest was in a desperate attempt to sign another left-wing-back. Moreno could have been a star at the City Ground. Ultimately, the team chose to proceed with a bid for Renan Lodi.

Moreno, a former Forest target, played a crucial role in Villa’s comeback in the latter half of the previous campaign. Alan Shearer referred to him as “fantastic” on Match of the Day back in March after he excelled against West Ham.

Following their failure to land Moreno, Forest has moved on. The player would have been a long-term option, and they will be competing for the left-back shirt this season with Harry Toffolo, Ola Aina, and Nuno Tavares.
