Villa’s position in the standings after ten games is fifth, one point behind Liverpool in fourth.

In six Premier League games, Emery’s team has won five and drawn one, going undefeated.

Hutton told Villa News that he believes Emery may be aiming for a top-four finish this season, answering, “Behind closed doors, with the squad, yes.” He’ll want to push them as far as they can go because he’ll be desperate.

“Recruitment has been excellent, and they are unquestionably moving in the right way to pursue it. Can they return in January to bring in more troops to help them get going? That is undoubtedly the future course of action.

Another checkbox will be marked if they can place in the European spots, whether it’s the Conference League or the Europa League. It’s an additional positive step.

“They won’t talk about it as much in private, but there might be a few rumbles.” Could we succeed? Can we go ahead and put some pressure on these elite teams?

“They have some major exams coming up, and if they pass, we’ll probably have a different conversation. However, they are unquestionably headed in the right direction.

Villa’s next game is on Sunday, November 5, at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest.

Subsequently, they will host AZ Alkmaar at Villa Park for the fourth Europa Conference League match before hosting Fulham at home to resume league play.

In other Aston Villa news, there has been conjecture recently regarding Douglas Luiz, and a £50 million transfer claim has been made.
