Indiana basketball added the transfer sharpshooter is desperately sought this offseason in former Illinois guard Luke Goode.

A homecoming of sorts for the Fort Wayne, Ind., native, Goode is expected to fill an important role for the Hoosiers in the 2024-25 campaign as a career 38.8 percent 3-point shooter with 76 career games played.

Across three seasons with the Illini, the 6-foot-7 guard averaged 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game. He was limited to just 10 games during his sophomore season due to injury, but returned last season and played in all 38 games to help Illinois claim a Big Ten Tournament championship and reach the Elite Eight.

With Indiana’s summer workouts several weeks in, Goode has had a chance to practice and play alongside his new teammates., which include six returners and six newcomers. While IU is not foreign to Goode — he has deep family ties to the school and was on IU’s radar as a recruit — he’ll have to adjust to a new coaching staff, new offensive and defensive philosophies and an entirely new roster.

On Wednesday night, Goode joined the Sleepers Media livestream on YouTube to discuss his decision to transfer to Indiana, his first few weeks of summer workouts, his potential role in IU’s offense and his early impressions of several IU players.
